The ABMGG Board of Directors recently approved the transition to administering the certifying examinations annually. Beginning in 2025, the ABMGG will offer the certifying examinations every year in all specialties except clinical biochemical genetics and medical biochemical genetics.
The current number of biochemical genetics examinees does not allow for psychometric validity of the exam results if offered annually. The clinical biochemical genetics and medical biochemical genetics examinations will continue to be offered every other year, in odd years (2025, 2027, etc.).
