The ABMS member boards have agreed to provide reciprocal credit for many Continuing Certification activities. The ABMGG will accept one module for Lifelong Learning and one module for Practice Improvement that were satisfactorily completed for another Board’s continuing certification program. Diplomates may request credit for activities completed for another ABMS Board. Please submit documentation for review and approval.

  • Professionalism requires separate submission of documentation to each Board.
  • Longitudinal assessments (CertLink/Part III) are required for each Board specialty you are maintaining.
  • The American Board of Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology (and others) have agreed that if you are meeting the ongoing requirements of continuing certification for one Board (including ABMGG), the following will apply:
    • ABIM and ABP: If the diplomate is meeting Continuing Certification requirements for ABMGG, this will fulfill the Lifelong Learning and Practice Improvement required activities for ABP and ABIM.
    • ABOG: ABOG Lifelong Learning activities will fulfill ABMGG Lifelong Learning requirements. The ABMGG will accept one genetics-related Practice Improvement ABOG module over a three-year period.
    • Other inter-Board agreements are arranged on an individual basis; contact the ABMGG at MOC@abmgg.org for details.
